About VA Integrated Service Networks

Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs) are the organizational backbone of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Each VISN is responsible for coordinating healthcare services across multiple VA medical centers, outpatient clinics, and community-based facilities within their geographic region.

The VISN structure allows the VA to provide coordinated, patient-centered care while maintaining regional oversight and accountability. Each network is led by a Network Director who reports directly to VHA leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating healthcare delivery across facilities
  • Managing regional budgets and resources
  • Implementing VHA policies and initiatives
  • Ensuring quality of care and patient safety
